March 2022 Round-up

March, you are rolling in like a lion… but somehow I doubt you will leave like a lamb.

Welcome to my monthly round-up of what I’m watching, reading, or finding interesting this month.

READING

I just finished up “The Underground Railroad” for my book club. It was an incredibly challenging, yet important read. On to “The Book of Longings” which is fascinating so far! Having not grown up religious, I’m sure there are some connections or biblical names I’m not connecting to, but the author is doing a wonderful job stringing me along.

LISTENING TO

Do you ever have a moment when you are hit by needing to hear a specific song or a specific voice? Where does that come from? One morning, just making my coffee, and BAM! I HAD to listen to Nick Drake's “One of These Things First.” Just a gorgeous song sung by a beautiful voice.

WATCHING

I finished the last season of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and am in that post-show slump/depression. And The Gilded Age is taking forever to update! Any good shows I should check out?

CREATING

I did a post about how to paint with coffee, which I hadn’t done in a while and love.
I also am doing a bunch of urban sketching this month. There was a fun meet-up with a local urban sketching group and we’re planning a trip to Chicago where I plan to do a bunch more!

Painting onsite is what urban sketching is all about!
